The Mat-Su Pretrial is situated in Palmer, Alaska.

The Mat-Su Pretrial will only house adult male inmates. All inmates in the Mat-Su Pretrial who do not have a high school diploma or GED will be required to go through the educational programs to obtain said GED.

The Mat-Su Pretrial will also offer its inmates several vocational classes where inmates can learn vital life skills and learn about computers.

The facility also offers drug and alcohol abuse programs and substance abuse treatment programs as well.

All inmates in the Mat-Su Pretrial will be housed in a dormitory style setting.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

When mailing an offender, a letter through the mail, please make sure you have the inmate’s full name along with their inmate identification number on the envelope. The mailing address and the physical address are the same.

You will send all mail to the physical address that can be found on the page.

Sending Money

To make sure your offender is taken care of you will need to send money to them, so they can purchase everyday items.

The Mat-Su Pretrial has made it easier than ever for you to send an inmate money. You can send an inmate money by using JPay. You will need to be aware that JPay will charge you a small fee to use their service.

Phone calls

All inmates will have the chance to purchase minutes from the commissary if they have funds in their account. If they do not, they will have to call home using the collect call method. All calls are monitored and recorded.

Visitation

The visiting hours at the Mat-Su Pretrial will be done a bit differently than most of the correctional institutions. The Mat-Su Pretrial uses their schedule on the first letter of the offenders last name. This schedule will change every four or so months.

Visits will be on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 1 pm to 3 pm. However, the day of the visit will solely be dependent on the inmate’s last name. Please note that inmates are only allowed to have three visitors per visiting appointment.
