Sending a Mail/Care Package

You will have the chance to send mail to the inmate while they are in the Augusta Transitional Center as well. All incoming and outgoing mail will be checked by a correctional officer.

There are strict guidelines when it comes to sending mail such as you cannot use the following:

  • Staples

  • Paper Clips

  • Sexual Content

  • Stickers

Sending Money

Just like nearly all other state prisons, the Augusta Transitional Center also uses JPay for their offender money needs. JPay is a service where you can easily put money on an inmate's books using your credit or debit card. You can deposit money over the phone, or you can do so directly online on the website.

Phone calls

Inmates in the Augusta Transitional Center will be permitted to call their loved ones while they are serving out their time. However, their loved ones will NOT be permitted to call them and/or leave them messages with the correctional staff.

Inmates will have access to the phones during the day. Inmates will NOT have access to the phones if the facility is under lockdown or they are in discipline.

Visitation

To visit an inmate in the Augusta Transitional Center, you will need to follow the facility's dress code, submit to a search of you and your vehicle, along with bringing your photo identification card such as your driver’s license.
