South Bend, Indiana is home to the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center. The South Bend Community Re-Entry Center is a maximum-security state facility.

The South Bend Community Re-Entry Center is composed of three facilities on the premises. The facilities are known as a level 4 and level 5 unit, a minimum level 2 unit, along with a maximum-security level 6 unit.

The South Bend Community Re-Entry Center was designed to house up to 112 inmates. In the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center, they will ONLY house male inmates. Adult male inmates to be exact.

You should note that the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center is the home of the Indiana’s Death Row as well. This means that the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center will house some of the most dangerous offenders who was charged with some of the most heinous crimes.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

When sending mail to the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center, please ensure that you do not only put your return address, but you also have the inmates name and the inmates CD number on the envelope as well. This will allow the correctional officers an easier time to see what for who is.

Sending Money

For you to be able to deposit money into an inmate's account at the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center, you will need to be an approved visitor. You can mail a money order to the facility, but on the money order, you will need to display the inmate’s number and the inmate’s full name.

If you are not an approved visitor, you will NOT be permitted to send money to the inmate.

Phone calls

Inmates in the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center are NOT permitted to receive phone calls on ANY electronic devices. Inmates are only allowed to MAKE phone calls to their loved ones.

Phone calls are always monitored and recorded for safety purposes.

Visitation

For you to have permission to visit an inmate in the South Bend Community Re-Entry Center, you will need to have filled out, submitted, and had your visitation application approved. You will NOT be able to visit an inmate without filling out and having your visitor application approved.

If an inmate is in the reception, diagnostic, and classification phase, inmates will only be permitted to having immediate family members come to visit.

But, once they get out of that phase, visiting hours and visiting days will be solely dependent on the inmate’s custody classification.
