Sending a Mail/Care Package

Visitation

The following are some rules regarding inmate visitation at Wyandotte County Detention Center:

Each inmate is allowed one or two visits each week. Inmates with special privileges are allowed additional visits.

Only visitors on the approved visiting list are permitted to visit. Proper photo identification must be shown prior to visitation.

Loud, disruptive or inappropriate behavior by visitors, including children, is grounds for termination of the visit.

Staff have the authority to seat visitors or inmates at their discretion.

Visitors are expected to wear appropriate attire. The officer has the right to deny visiting for inappropriate attire.

Parents are responsible for the conduct and safety of their children. Disruptive behavior by children is grounds for termination of the visit.

No food, drinks, or candy is permitted in the visitation room. In addition, no cell phones or electronic devices are allowed.

All visitation is through a glass window and the inmate and visitor will be speaking to each other with a phone. One phone is to be used per inmate and visitors.
