The Washoe County Detention Facility is a medium-security detention center located in Reno, Nevada and was built in 1993. This county jail is operated locally by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and holds inmates who are awaiting trial or sentencing.

Visitation
Inmates are allowed one 15-minute visit on their visitation day. Three visitors are allowed for each inmate at one tie. A valid ID is required from each visitor. Visitation is a first-come, first basis.
Visitation hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 9 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
All visits are non-contact and through a glass window. The inmate and visitor will speak through a phone. All visits are monitored by staff.
The Washoe County Detention Facility staff will turn anyone away who is not dressed appropriately for visitation.
The following clothing is inappropriate for visitation:

Any undergarments that are showing
Shorts and skirts that are above the mid-thigh
Clothing promoting gang affiliation
Anything displaying drugs, weapons or profanity
