You are only allowed to mail an inmate a money order by using USPS. No cash.
Phone calls
If you do not have a mobile line and would like to receive calls from the inmates in the Marion County Detention Center, you will be happy to know they don’t just do collect calls anymore. They also use Paytel.
Paytel is a third-party service that contracts with the Marion County Detention Center. You can choose a plan you would like when you create your account.
Keep in the back of your mind that if there is no money in the phone account, the inmate will not be able to call you using the Paytel service. They will have to call you collect.
Visitation
Visitation is held on Thursdays at the Marion County Detention Center.
Visitation will be held during two set times on Thursday. The first time being 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The second time being 7 pm to 9 pm.
You should note that the inmates in the Marion County Detention Center will only be allowed to have one visit every week.
Everyone in your party will need to have a photo identification card prior to being allowed in the visitation area. If you are bringing someone under the age of 18, they will need to be brought with their legal guardian and stay with the party the entire time.
