The Walker County Jail was constructed in 1978. When the Walker County Jail was constructed it was under Sheriff L. Ray Patterson’s careful watch.

Throughout the years, the Walker County Jail expanded and expanded again. As of today, Walker County Jail can comfortably hold 162 inmates.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Inmates can receive letters, while they are in the Walker County Jail. But you should refrain from your letters having any of the following subject matters:

Inmates may also receive soft-sided Bibles. The only catch for sending a Bible to the Walker County Jail is they will need to be sent to the facility from the supplier and/or publisher.

Inmates can also receive tennis shoes as well, but just like the Bibles, they will need to be sent to the Walker County Jail from the supplier and/or publisher.
