Draper, Utah is home to the Utah State Prison – Promontory Facility. The Utah State Prison – Promontory Facility is a maximum-security state facility.

The Utah State Prison – Promontory Facility is composed of three facilities on the premises. The facilities are known as a level 4 and level 5 unit, a minimum level 2 unit, along with a maximum-security level 6 unit.

The Utah State Prison – Promontory Facility was designed to house up to 400 inmates. In the Utah State Prison – Promontory Facility, they will ONLY house male inmates. Adult male inmates to be exact.

For you to be able to deposit money into an inmate's account at the Utah State Prison - Promontory Facility, you will need to be an approved visitor. You can mail a money order to the facility, but on the money order, you will need to display the inmate’s number and the inmate’s full name.

If you are not an approved visitor, you will NOT be permitted to send money to the inmate.

Visitation

For you to have permission to visit an inmate in the Utah State Prison - Promontory Facility, you will need to have filled out, submitted, and had your visitation application approved. You will NOT be able to visit an inmate without filling out and having your visitor application approved.

If an inmate is in the reception, diagnostic, and classification phase, inmates will only be permitted to having immediate family members come to visit.

But, once they get out of that phase, visiting hours and visiting days will be solely dependent on the inmate’s custody classification.
