About Washington State Department of Corrections

Before the 1970s, state restorative offices were overseen by the Washington Department of Institutions. Representative Daniel J. Evans solidified the Department of Institutions, Department of Open Help and Professional Recovery, and other related departments into the Washington State Department of Social and Wellbeing Administrations (DSHS) during the 1970s.

On July 1, 1981, the Washington State Lawmaking body moved the organization of grown-up restorative institutions from the Washington State Department of Social and Wellbeing Administrations, Division of Grown-up Corrections to the recently made Washington State Department of Corrections as a component of the 1981 Corrections Change Act.

Corrections esteems association and trust. We cultivate receptiveness and bolster valiant discussions. We are focused on doing what we state we will do by being responsible and taking individual possession in our activities.

Corrections acknowledges and values people by advancing a comprehensive and differing condition, which empowers security. We regard, worth, and tune in to the contemplations, sentiments, and points of view of our partners and consider the effect on those we fill in just as one another.
